The Story
Limone sul Garda – Sunshine Set in Stone
On the western shore of Lake Garda, a village clings to the cliffs whose name is its promise: Limone. For centuries, lemons have ripened here in stone limonaie – terraces that store the sun and keep the frost away. It is the northernmost place in Europe where citrus trees thrive.
Walk through the narrow alleys and you feel it at once: the sparkle of turquoise water, warm air carrying the scent of lemon oil and orange blossom along the promenade, the soft clinking of espresso cups by the harbour.
